Tudor armour jerkin canvas brown

Even the best plate armour is useless if the wearer can not move in it. Oftentimes you have to find a compromise between padding and freedom of movement. The late medieval "Tudor" jerkin was specifically designed to be worn underneath a steel torso armour. Lined robustly, it is not as thickly wadded as conventional gambesons. In this way, "Tudor" protects the wearer from pressure marks and the impact of an opponent's blows without limiting the mobility. The arms are not padded, but have a double layer of thick canvas fabric. This increases mobility while at the same time preventing the arm guards worn on top from chafing the skin. Additional holes allow the fastening of light armour parts, such as the armshield "Wilhelm" with strings. Ribbons with fixed tips are used to lace this jerkin. Naturally this gambeson can be worn separately, without any kind of armour on top. The additional holes allow various possibilities to personalize this gambeson to the wearer's needs and demands. It was the basic clothing for men and women and was subject to constant changes through new cuts.Our tunic "Gadaric" is the base for a great variety of medieval outfits. The sole of this boot is not nailed, but sewn! We recommend resoling it A pair of durable boots with three replicated buckles. Tough boots are a neccessity when going on events and having bad weather: there is little worse, than wet feet in pain. These boots were made along historical patterns and pictures: they are being closed with buckles on the dorsum of the foot and on your ankle. The heavy leather sole is nailed onto the top, so you can basically wear a historical replica boot. The thick upper leather repells rain and dirt as long as its greased thick enough.
